Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) is a Windows tool that can scan for all sorts of vulnerabilities, including missing security patches, missing operating system updates, missing antivirus updates, and weak passwords. It also identifies issues with applications. While not included in Windows, it is a free download.
Just follow and complete the MBSA installation wizard.
Click Scan a computer.
Choose Computer name (this computer) or type the IP address of the Windows machine to scan. Click Start Scan.
The scan takes several minutes.
