Configure Remote Access in Linux (Ubuntu) via VNC

In order to allow remote desktop in Linux (Ubuntu), click on the Search icon > type/search for desktop sharing > click the Desktop Sharing icon.


Enable/tick Allow other users to control your desktop and optionally type a password.


Install VNC Viewer in a Windows machine.


Disable/uncheck Send anonymous usage data to help improve VNC Viewer.


Add the Ubuntu machine by clicking File > New Connection.


Type the Linux remote IP address.


The VNC will prompt an error below.


You'll need the command below in Ubuntu for VNC to work: gsettings set org.gnome.Vino require-encryption false


Connect again to the Linux remote machine and click Continue.


Type the same password configured in Ubuntu.


Ubuntu will display a pop-up message. Just click Allow.
